Catholic kindergarten St. Paulus-Augustinus in Flottbek
In our one-group daycare center, we accompany up to 20 elementary children on their way from toddler to schoolchild in a very familiar atmosphere.
Our cozy group room and the large, natural outdoor area offer plenty of space to play with friends and explore the world.
We want to create a loving environment in which the children have the space and time to develop according to their own personality. Based on the Christian view of the world and the human being, we accompany the children on their way to coming to terms with themselves and the world.

Our concept: Growing in security
Between the ages of 3 and 6, children undergo exciting development. They develop their language skills, learn to climb, swing, use scissors and pencils and make friends.
During this exciting time, we want to promote their skills in various areas and give them support on this exciting journey with familiarity and consistency.
We organise the activities for one or more weeks around overarching themes based on the church year, the seasons or the children’s interests.
In addition to free play in the group and in the garden, we offer the following educational programmes:
- Age-homogeneous small group work
- Craft activities and creative design
- Religious education programmes
- Early musical education
- Weekly walks, visits to the market or playground
- Language development
- Pre-school work
- Gardening and nature experiences
- Project work on various topics
Our educators
Debora Soares Conceicao
Ms. Soares is married and has two sons.
She grew up in Brazil and studied to be a teacher there. In Hamburg, she worked for several years as an educator in the GBS.
Maria Tsoutsoura
Ms. Tsoutsoura is married and has one son.
Before taking parental leave, she worked for several years as an educator at the St. Joseph Catholic daycare center.
Embedded in the community
The daycare centre is directly connected to the parish of St. Paulus-Augustinus. Church festivals are celebrated together and prepared by the daycare centre.
